Clyde & Central Otago Attractions

Clyde Motel is the perfect holiday base for exploring Clyde and other Central Otago attractions. Clyde dam, New Zealand's largest concrete gravity dam is within walking distance. A stroll that takes you through what was once a rollicking 1860s gold mining canvas town and now rewards you with wonderful stone buildings and well-kept colonial cottages. Local attractions include three museums, the Clyde Museum, the Herb Museum and the Station Museum.

The Cromwell Basin, heart of Central Otago's wine growing region, is only a 20 minute drive up the spectacular Cromwell Gorge. From the Cromwell basin it's only an hour to Queenstown and three quarters of an hour to Wanaka. Alexandra and its own special attractions including the hillside clock and magnificent museum not to mention great shopping are just 10 minutes away.

From the Clyde Motel it is only an hour's drive to the magnificent Maniototo Plains and townships such as St Bathans, Ranfurly and Naseby where you will find New Zealand's only international indoor year round curling rink. Then there's river cruises, walking tracks, off-roading, mountain biking, relaxing, reading... the list goes on and on.
